## Description

With her long, flowing black locks and her sleepy pale golden eyes, this beautiful lady gazes softly into the distance. At first I thought that she was a huntress holding her bow, but I’m not sure now, I think that perhaps what she is holding is actually a musical instrument, perhaps a Lyre or a Lute?The locket is beautifully hand crafted in the Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style. The front showcase a lovely hand painted enamel portrait with a glowing sunset like background. The locket is beautifully rough, I believe it was done by the famed artist firm of Meyle and Mayer of Pforzheim, Germany, in about 1910. The silver forms a scrolling frame with a flower at the bottom, the locket slides open to reveal a beveled mirror in a frame. This locket measures 44 mm north to south and 33.4 mm across, it’s 4.3 mm thick and weighs 17.9 grams.
