## Summary

Yellow hardcover book titled 'Short Form' focusing on the history of music videos, advertising, and filmmaking by Academy Films.

## Description

Short Form is a publication offering a fresh look at cinematic creation. Focusing on some of the most memorable short-form works in music videos and advertising, the book analyzes the relevance and evolution of these genres through the forty-year history of Academy Films, one of the most iconic and influential production companies in the UK. Through behind-the-scenes images, storyboards, film stills, production notes and other materials, it explores cult pieces that have shaped the cultural and cinematic landscape, such as Jamiroquai's 'Virtual Insanity', Lauryn Hill's 'Doo Wop (That Thing)', Radiohead's 'Karma Police', The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' and FKA Twigs' 'M3LL155X', as well as commercials for Guinness, Channel 4 and Levi’s. With a foreword by filmmaker Jonathan Glazer, the book brings together essays by prominent figures in audiovisual culture exploring the history of these projects and their influence on today’s digital short-film landscape. Published by MACK.
