Johann Hermann Schein (1586-1630) was a German composer of mostly vocal music, both sacred and secular. This setting of Martin Luther's "Christ lag in Todesbanden" (Christ Lay by Death Enshrouded) is written for three-part chorus or soloists with instrumental bass and continuo, edited by Kurt Stone.
