Antonín Dvorák composed his Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat Major, Op. 87/ B. 162 in the summer of 1889, while residing at his country home in Vysoká. The first performance took place in Frankfurt on October 17, 1890. Although it has sometimes been overlooked, it demonstrates the composer's mastery of form and melodic inventiveness. Reprint of the critical edition by Karel Šolc and Antonín Pokorný.
