A companion piece to Eriks Ešenvalds' Northern Lights, this piece uses Sami folksongs and English texts from multiple writers to reproduce, in musical form, the shimmering "rivers of light" flowing across the sky in the Aurora Borealis. Commissioned by the "Swedbank Choir" under Arturs Ancans, Rivers of Light is scored for mixed SSAATTBBB choir with two solo voices (one female, one male) and jew's harp.
