A soliloquy, or monologue, is essentially a conversation with yourself. The most famous soliloquy might be that of Shakespeare's Hamlet . "To be, or not to be" may be one of the most quoted lines of Shakespeare. In this instance, the solo flute work composed by Kevin Kaisershot engages the player in a number of thought provoking musical displays, each of which must be individually addressed in order to move forward with the conversation.
