The Lot 2225 is Warehouse’s take on the WWII U.S. Navy gunner deck smock: a pullover anorak based on the later, closed-placket model for better protection on deck. Early wartime versions were made in denim; this iteration uses an ecru selvedge twill with the right period hand and drape. The cut is boxy for easy layering, the hood is generous with sturdy ties, and the hem cinches with a rope drawcord. Dual patch pockets with flaps anchor the front. Postwar, surplus smocks like this became a campus staple, with some even over-dyed to hide grime.
