Originally designed by Monica Förster for Zanat’s 2020 Lockdown Dialogues project, the Unity stool is a multifunctioning object with a timeless elegance. In a portrayal of the inseparable links that connect humanity as a whole – a notion further compounded through the Covid-19 pandemic – Unity presents a series of prominent voids among solid blocks that are seamlessly sculpted from black-stained maple wood. The result is an exceptionally crafted item that not only represents an abstract humanistic idea, but can be used as either a stool or side table.
